POSITION SUMMARY
Summit Packaging Systems is seeking a Director of Finance and Accounting to oversee all financial operations for our U.S. manufacturing facilities, based at our Manchester, NH headquarters. This role owns the accounting function end to end — from monthly close and budgeting to capital project analysis — and partners closely with our international finance teams across Summit Europe, Summit de Sudamerica, and Summit Packaging Mexico to support consolidated global reporting. This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to executive leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, capital expenditure plans, and rolling forecasts for the Manchester, NH and Racine, WI facilities.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and KPI reporting to executive leadership.
- Partner with international finance counterparts across Summit Europe, Summit de Sudamerica, and Summit Packaging Mexico to support consolidated global reporting.
- Oversee cost accounting and margin analysis for valve and actuator product lines, supporting pricing and profitability decisions.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banking partners, and tax advisors; ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team; establish and maintain strong internal controls.
- Support evaluation of capital projects, such as facility expansions and automation investments, with financial modeling and ROI analysis.
- Administer profit-sharing and bonus calculations in partnership with Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with multi-site or multinational financial consolidation preferred
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems, advanced Excel, and financial modeling.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
