POSITION SUMMARY
Summit Packaging Systems is seeking a Project Manager to lead cross-functional manufacturing and engineering initiatives out of our Manchester, NH headquarters. This role partners closely with our Automation & Engineering, Tool Shop, Technical Service Laboratory, Quality, and Operations teams to plan and deliver projects ranging from new product launches and equipment installations to facility expansions across our global manufacturing network. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working across multiple sites and departments, and motivated by hands-on involvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, lead, and execute cross-functional manufacturing and engineering projects from initiation through close-out, Including new product launches, capital equipment installations, and facility expansions.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans; track milestones and proactively flag risks to leadership.
- Partner with the Automation & Engineering, Tool Shop, and Technical Service Laboratory teams to coordinate machine builds, tooling changeovers, and process validations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the Manchester, NH headquarters and the Racine, WI and Keene, NH facilities for multi-site initiatives.
- Coordinate with Quality and Operations to ensure ISO 9001 standards are maintained throughout project execution.
- Prepare and present project status reports, timelines, and ROI summaries to senior leadership.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships related to equipment installation and facility build-outs.
- Identify process improvement and cost-saving opportunities consistent with Summit's continuous improvement culture.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment; plastics, packaging, or aerosol/valve manufacturing experience preferred.
- PMP certification a plus, but not required.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, and ERP/MRP systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
- Willingness to travel periodically between Summit facilities.
